We’re saving lives thanks to your generous donations!

Thank you to Greece Rotary Foundation!

Thank you to Greece Rotary Foundation!

Thank you to Greece Rotary Foundation for a $1,000 donation toward the purchase of mosquito nets for the clinic. Heather Salamone (2nd from left) and Palath Thonchar (far right) presented an update on the clinic, and graciously accepted Rotary’s generous donation on behalf of South Sudan Village Care Foundation. Palath is in South Sudan right now, and he personally purchased 68 nets of varying sizes in Nairobi, Kenya. They will help protect families from mosquitoes transmitting Malaria.

This contribution comes at an important time, as we are still trying to raise the funds necessary to hire an “In-Country Representative” to be stationed in Juba, South Sudan for a 6-month period. With just a few days left, we have only $13,000 toward our goal of $25,000.

If you have been considering a donation, now would be the perfect time. Your help today will ensure that we will have the partners and funds we’ll need in the future. We are making a difference!

You can learn more about this need in our post from earlier this month.

We have a very specific and very urgent need that you can help with today.

UPDATE on 3/10: We have reached nearly 60% of our campaign goal! We are able to extend this fundraising effort by just one month to get closer to the goal.

If you haven’t already, please consider making a contribution and sharing this message with friends. We’re so close! Thank you for your support.

South Sudan Village Care FoundationWe have just learned about an AMAZING grant opportunity to obtain funds for Our Clinic that are available right now!

You can help secure these grants!

To do this, we need to raise $25,000 over the next 20 days to hire an “In-Country Representative” to be stationed in Juba, South Sudan for a 6-month period.

We know how passionate you are about the success of our clinic; share that passion with your friends, family and co-workers. Rally the troops! This is the moment to make a difference that can impact Panrieng, South Sudan for years to come!

This money will be used to recruit, hire, transport, establish an office, accommodations and pay a salary for our representative.

This individual will then work full time as a liaison with NGOs (non-governmental organizations) and local government agencies to write grants and obtain funds that are available right now to help those suffering from the health crisis that so many are facing. Our representative will also work with our clinic manager to help with the ongoing need of buying and transporting medicines, and will be present during on-site meetings where our needs are discussed.

We have less than 20 days to secure the funds necessary to hire our representative. The success of the clinic depends on your generosity.

Asante Sana!
Thank you very much, in Swahili
Palath

Every gift you make goes directly to the clinic

South Sudan Village Care Foundation
Thank you to all our wonderful friends and supporting donors. This year’s fundraising profits totaled over $11,000. Your amazing gifts will help us continually support the 9,000 women, children, and men that have already received care at our medical clinic in Panrieng,Unity State. Thousands more will come because this is a place where the weak get stronger, and Mothers and Fathers get help for their children and themselves. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. We promise each and every gift you make goes directly to the clinic. $625/week is needed to buy medicines and air transport them to the clinic, and maintain operations thru the hard work of our clinic staff. Thank You Emmanuel (our Medical Attendant) and Philip (on-site Manager) and our cook/housekeeper for keeping the doors open to those that come desperately looking for help and relief.

Prayer of thanks

Dear Friends and supporters of SSVCF,

I would like to thank all of you on this last day of 2014. You should know that 2014 has been one the most difficult years in the history of the Southern Sudan region. Your support and donations have helped us to keep the Clinic operating since we opened 12 months ago.

Thank you for being a great ambassadors of these villages. It is my hope that you will continue to help the Foundation in the coming year. We do not know what 2015 will look like, though I hope it will be a peaceful and successful year for those who made impacts in other people’s lives and the South Sudanese people as well.

I’d also like to both welcome and introduce two of our newest board members.

Patrick ShoresPatrick Shores is Founder and President of the Rochester based non-profit organization Untapped Shores International.
Ann FreyAnn Frey brings experience as a member of non-profit boards and interest and knowledge of African issues.

Thank you,
Palath Thonchar
